PA13: Multi-channel System for Pulse Energy Measurement

The PA13 detection system is an instrument that measures the illumination intensity in a pulsed environment. This system produces an output voltage that is proportional to the intensity of pulsed radiation incident on the IRD photodiodes. This is achieved by charge amplification and integration. The PA13 incorporates a self-test feature that allows users to exercise the functionality of the detection system without requiring illumination of the detector.

The PA13 Multi-channel Pulse Detection System contains up to 10 identical channels which include the following instrumentation: (1) a preamplifier board which amplifies the charge produced from pulse radiation incident on the photodiode, (2) a driver board which provides the power to drive the signal over long cables and (3) a sampler board that samples the pulse produced by the preamplifier and provides an output voltage proportional to the input charge. The sampler board also provides power to the entire detector chain. Following table describes specifications of the PA13 system :
